Career Planning

Many of our graduates obtained admission to the mater programs at Ming Chuan University, National Chiayi University, and other famous tourist institutes. We have achieved the average employment rate of 95% or more. Our graduates mostly are working on tourism related jobs in Taoyuan County and have got good reputations. Some of them even employed as university lecturers.
Students of the Department are expected to graduate with strong academic preparations and technical training to pursue either advanced education or careers in tourism-related professions. Students seeking further studies will receive comprehensive guidance in choosing suitable plans for achieving their goals. Graduates can also find employment in relevant industries of tourism. The career options include positions in hotels, restaurants, travel agencies, and government agencies, etc.
The Department makes every effort to help students prepare for entering the workforce with the following three main approaches:
  1. Providing students with career information in the recreation, sports, culinary and hospitality, tourism management sectors; and working with the industries on matching the students’ qualification with their job openings.
  2. Actively working with government agencies and private businesses in Taiwan and abroad to:
    (1) Regularly invite working professionals with extensive experience in the field to present lectures and lead seminars. These lectures give students a first-hand account of the relevant industries, enabling them not only to be familiar with real-world practices but also to understand better the world of the respective industries.
    (2) Offer externship programs to provide students with plenty of opportunities for real-life training off-campus, allowing students to hone their practical skills and thereby enhance their professional competitiveness.
  3. The Department’s comprehensive educational programs offer courses to help students fully prepare for professional exams to obtain certificates essential to future occupation. The relevant certification exams include:
    (1) Junior Examination for Tour Guides
      (Exam administered by Ministry of Examinations)
    (2) Junior Examination for Tour Managers
      (Exam administered by Ministry of Examinations)
    (3) Class C Test for Bartenders
      (Test administered by Council of Labor Affairs, Executive Yuan)
    (4) Class C Test for Bakers
      (Test administered by Council of Labor Affairs, Executive Yuan)
    (5) Class C Test for Culinary and Hospitality Professionals
      (Test administered by Council of Labor Affairs, Executive Yuan)
    (6) MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions)
      Certification Examinations (Examinations administered by Taiwan
      External Trade Development Council)
    (7) Certification Examinations for Sport Facility Managers
      (Examinations administered by Taiwan Society for Sport
      Management)
