The first League of Legends--Wild Rift campus esports championship in the spring challenge group, hosted by Taiwan Mobile and guided by the Sports Administration ended on 12th evening with Vanung University getting a reversal win 4 to 3 over Daojiang Senior High School of Nursing & Home Economics. VNU contestants won a bonus of NTD $150,000. Lasting for three months, the intense tournament came to a perfect end. Top sixteen school esports teams in Taiwan entered the competition. VNU won its tribute by overwhelmingly defeating the best esports players from Tongtex High School, Juang Jing Vocational High School, Paul Hsu Senior High School, Chien Hsin University of Science & Technology, Taipei City University of Science & Technology and Lee-Ming Institute of Technology. Persistent in winning when entering every competition, VNU esports team won first place in last year’s LSC national campus game of League of Legends besides the new item League of Legends--Wild Rift, set in February. “It isn’t easy to organize a team for the new item,” said Yu-Chiang Hu, the leader of the team. It took a great deal of time to find suitable teammates to start a new game practice from zero. Many of the game players often worked on the game till dawn and they were happy to see their hard work fruitful in the long run. Dr. Thomas Chuang, President of VNU, stated that Vanung University has been developing esports as one of the university’s main features, combing professional faculty members with the establishment of the E-sports Center to cultivate professional game players, coaches, Youtubers, directors, event planners, game designers, computer hardware engineers and peripheral technicians. The goal is to create a relaxing and joyful esports environment for the students.
