“VNU established the Department of Food and Beverage Management and has recruited more than 50 professional professors with expertise in bakery, Chinese cuisine, Western cuisine, and Chinese-style noodles. Their professional skills are quite comprehensive. They have helped students to win many rewards domestically and abroad. Recently, by cooperating with China Airlines, they also developed Haka cuisine for the Southeast Asian routes and received very good reputation. Now, in VNU, there are more than 200 students from Malaysia, most of them studying in the Department of Food and Beverage Management. Through the word of mouth of the students, VNU has gained very good reputation in Malaysia. As a result, there are so many youth people interested in this program, which is now fully registered,” President Thomas Chuang emphasized.

Mr. Wu Bo-Shun said, “The students from Malaysia have learned solid skills at the Department of Food and Beverage Management in VNU. We welcome them to come to Dubu House Korea to be more experienced and apply what they learn in practice. Our company, sticking to the philosophy of treating quests as friends and regarding partners as family, would have our quests experience the warm Taiwanese hospitality in service, food, and dining environment. In addition, we also try to make our partners share their experiences and encourage one another.” Mr. Wu Bo-Shun also hopes that the students from Malaysia will have good communication with customers and coworkers in order to comprehensively promote the quality of service.

Mr. Zen Wei-Shian, a young man from Malaysia, said, “The curricula here are pretty solid. I hope that there will be more courses for practice. The facilities in the Department are also quite appropriate and are well managed. During the past three weeks, there have been companies meeting with us and promising that as long as we’ve got the working permit, we may start our internship. We really thank Chair Liao Cheng-wen of the Department and the professors for their dedication, which enables us to acquire the culinary skills. I am planning to stay in Taiwan to pursue further study, to get a diploma, and to earn more professional certificates.”

Miss Zen Pei-Chi, a young lady from Daerah Kuala Selangor, said, “I really thank my parents for their support so that I have the opportunity to come to Taiwan to attend this ‘short-term program of gourmet cuisine’. During these weeks on the program, what I like most is the slicing practice which trains me to cut vegetables into different preferred shapes. Besides, the slicing maneuvering is also very skill-intensive. I have also learned how to slice different vegetables to make them look tastier. I cherish this opportunity in Vanung University.”
