Under the guidance of Professor Xiangcheng Tang of Vanung University, the students of Class B of the Department of Commercial Design took part in the Taoyuan Design Exhibition of Industry-Academy Cooperation 2013 and won three medals in the competition. The winning lists are as follows:
Gold Medal: Zhiyang Qiu, Shenrong Zhang, Xingyun Xu and Naijia Ye Silver Medal: Zhirong Lin, Jieyu Xie, Xinyu Zhi, Peng Gao and Junyu Lin Bronze Medal: Weizhi Sheng, Yiaming Liu, Yanzheng Wu, Meisan Lin and Fanzheng Chen
The competition was organized by the Culture Bureau and the Art Equipment Management Center of Taoyuan County. The exhibition went from 9:00AM to 5:00PM, Aug. 14 through Sept. 4 at the first floor of the Taoyuan Exhibition Center. It consists of design area, the tourism area, and the design winning works area. The purposes of the event were to integrate the designing energy of colleges and universities to help the local designing talents and promote the creative cultural industry in Taoyuan as well as to establish an exchange platform for design and creativity.
Six colleges and universities that have the design-related disciplines on their campuses were invited to the exhibitions: Vanung University, Ming Chuan University, Chung Yuan Christian University, Chang Gung University, Lunghua University and Taoyuan Innovation Institute of Technology. In addition, nine of the tourist businesses and cultural museums were also invited to the event: the Pacific Cycles Museum, Formosa Plastics Group Museum, King’s Spring Bed Museum, the Linkou Branch of Taiwan Tobacco and Liquor Corporation, Kinlan Authentic Chinese Soy Sauce Museum, Music4Fun Meseum, Kuo Yuan Ye Cake and Pastry Museum, Sha Yang Ye Dream Robot Workshop, I Mei Manufacture Eco Life Factory. The Taoyuan Design Competition of Industry-Academy Cooperation 2013 was held for the first time, and it was sponsored by the tourist factories with their products and marketing demand. The participation of college students of design nationwide was welcome. There were 262 works in competition to boost the competitiveness of the design industry in Taoyuan.
The competition fell into three categories: Creative and Cultural Products, Product Packaging and Micro Film Marketing. Based on the county’s tourist factories, the designs focused on the industry-academy cooperation possibilities and created surprising works one after another.
As a result, under the guidance of Professor Xingcheng Tang, the junior students of the Department of Commercial Design of Vanung University, with their excellent creative design, successfully won the gold, the silver, and the bronze medals in the competition.
